Response Submission on TRAI's Consultation Paper on Privacy, Security and Ownership of Data in Telecom Sector

CIS submitted its comments on the consultation paper on privacy, security and ownership of data in telecom sector which was published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on August 9, 2017.

The submission is divided in four parts. The first part introduces the document, the second part gives an overview of CIS and its work, the third part contains general comments on the consultation paper and the fourth part contains specific comments on questions posed in the consultation paper. The Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) is a non-profit organisation that undertakes interdisciplinary research on internet and digital technologies from policy and academic perspectives. The areas of focus include digital accessibility for persons with disabilities, access to knowledge, intellectual property rights, openness (including open data, free and open source software, open standards, open access, open educational resources, and open video), internet governance, telecommunication reform, digital privacy, and cyber-security.
