Edit-a-thon organised at Christ University Bangalore to celebrate Women’s Day

A day-long edit-a-thon was organised at Christ University Bangalore on March 12, 2016 to celebrate the Women’s Day and grow the women-related articles on Kannada Wikipedia.

Like most other Wikipedia projects, Kannada Wikipedia also has way to go with bringing a balance in articles of all genders. 10 undergraduate students from the university participated in this event and created 20 quality articles of 137819 bytes during this edit-a-thon. Two experienced editors participated as mentors. More about the event could be read in the event page on Kannada Wikipedia.

About Us

The Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) is a non-profit organisation that undertakes interdisciplinary research on internet and digital technologies from policy and academic perspectives. The areas of focus include digital accessibility for persons with disabilities, access to knowledge, intellectual property rights, openness (including open data, free and open source software, open standards, open access, open educational resources, and open video), internet governance, telecommunication reform, digital privacy, and cyber-security.
