Accessibility of Banks and Financial Services Institutions: A Global Survey
The Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs (G3ict), a non-profit initiative advocating digital inclusion for persons with disabilities, has launched a global survey called ‘Banking and Financial Services Accessibility Initiative’. The project aims to be a repository of information on the measures that banks, insurance companies and allied financial services firms are undertaking in order to make their offerings more accessible and user-friendly for persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
Towards this end, G3ict, together with Scotiabank, requests senior managers, COO / CEOs, Managing Directors, IT Directors, HR Directors, and accessibility professionals from banks and financial services companies to participate in this Global Survey.
Aim
The survey will help us develop accessibility benchmarks and identify best practices in the field. The aim is to design options for banks and financial services institutions to increase their customer base by enabling them to cater to a group that might currently not be able to fully access financial services. The outcome will also help promote diversity and inclusion in the banking communities from a CSR standpoint.
