2012 Global Congress on Intellectual Property and the Public Interest from Dec 15, 2012 09:30 AM to Dec 17, 2012 05:30 PM — FGV Law School, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, — by Prasad Krishna: We are pleased to announce the Second Global Congress on Intellectual Property and the Public Interest. The theme for this year’s Congress will be “Setting the positive agenda in motion,” and will have a special focus on developments and opportunities in the so-called “BRICS” group of emerging economies. This note invites applications to attend the Congress, including proposals to chair workshops or deliver a paper or presentation related to the Congress’s theme.

The Lab

The Lab

The MetaCulture Media Lab envisions to create an open and alternative space for creative inquiry in the techno-social arena. The space offers a conducive environment for hands-on learning through experimentation with open and interactive technologies to enhance human experience in networked cultures. Our doors are open to anyone eager to engage in innovative exploration and meet like-minded individuals. The space is shared by a multidisciplinary representation ranging from NGO members, social scientists, artists, designers, technology hobbyists, start-ups, members of the industry, and other community members.

Besides providing an open participatory space, we regularly feature exhibitions, workshops, presentations, film screening and other events that are of interest to a wider community of technology and digital humanity enthusiasts, in a collaborative spirit of “learn, teach and share”.
