WIPO Broadcast Treaty- SCCR 26 : Proposals Introduced

India and the United States introduced proposals for discussion at the ongoing session of the SCCR.

At the ongoing session of the 26th SCCR, India and the United States have introduced proposals for discussion:

  1. India introduced this proposal for Article 5 (Definitions)
  2. India introduced this proposal for Article 6 (Scope of Application)
  3. Japan introduced this proposal as Article 6 bis
  4. India introduced this proposal for Article 7 (Beneficiaries of Protection)
  5. India introduced this proposal for Article 9 (Protection for Broadcasting Organizations)
  6. The United States introduced a Proposal for Discussion for Article 9 (Protection for Broadcasting Organizations). The delegation was keen to clarify that this was not a “US Proposal”; but merely a “Proposal for Discussion”

About Us

The Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) is a non-profit organisation that undertakes interdisciplinary research on internet and digital technologies from policy and academic perspectives. The areas of focus include digital accessibility for persons with disabilities, access to knowledge, intellectual property rights, openness (including open data, free and open source software, open standards, open access, open educational resources, and open video), internet governance, telecommunication reform, digital privacy, and cyber-security. The research at CIS seeks to understand the reconfiguration of social processes and structures through the internet and digital media technologies, and vice versa.
